Hi masters squash players, as you are aware our great friend and squash player Glen Ragou passed away in December 2015. Each year we are holding an annual tournament in his memory, where a masters team from the “North” play a masters team from the “South”.
The event is always a fantastic success with over 80 players competing to win the Glen Ragou Cup. The North VERY narrowly won the event in 2016 and 2017, but the South came back in 2018 with a resounding win! So this year I’m sure will be even more competitive after a few years gap.
To see the fun had take a look at the photos:
WE ARE AIMING FOR THIS YEARS EVENT TO BE EVEN BIGGER AND BETTER!
We will be again be holding the event on Saturday 17th September at Sutton Coldfield Squash Club. We are hoping for 50 players per team to enter. Each player will be paired up against an opponent of a similar standard/age.
Once the numbers reach 100 then the entry will close – so get your entries in early!!
Please tick free delivery when processing your payment as shirts will be given out at the event.
All matches will be PAR scoring best of 5 games. There will be additional North v South competitions in the bar afterwards. This event is intended to be a social but competitive one, with the winning team presented with the Glen Ragou cup.
Food will be available throughout the day and the matches will be followed with food and drinks and a live band in the evening. Players are encouraged to socialise afterwards and stay over as we all know that Glen liked to play and party hard!
Apart from a great day of squash and an evening of entertainment all profits will be going to charity.
The cost for entering will be £30 and this will include a competitive game of squash, a unique North or South T-Shirt, top level exhibition match between professionals on the show court, all daytime food, evening curry & then entertainment afterwards consisting of party games & a live band.
